Our society is Rich in Things, but Extremely Poor in time.
People have bigger houses but less peace in their hearts. Homes are filled with abundance
conveniences, and comforts. Technology giving us speedier gadgets and access to critical information. Yet, in the middle of this prosperity, something precious is missing.
We have faster communication, yet deeper loneliness.
Schedules are full, but souls often feel empty.
Families struggle to find time to sit together, pray together, or simply be present with one another.
This condition reveals a deeper spiritual problem. When life becomes centered on possessions, productivity, and pressure, we slowly lose sight of the eternal purpose God has for humanity.
The Bible speaks of a future hope — the coming Kingdom of God.
Jesus proclaimed this Kingdom as the central message of His ministry. In Gospel of Matthew 6:33, He said: "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
God’s Kingdom represents a completely different order of life. It is not a society driven by endless consumption or constant hurry. Instead, it will be a world ruled by God's righteousness, peace, and justice.
In that Kingdom:
People will not live under constant stress and competition.
Relationships will be restored.
Time will no longer be consumed by anxiety, greed, or survival.
Humanity will live in harmony with God and with one another.
The prophet spoke about this future in Book of Isaiah 2:4, describing a world where nations will no longer learn war and peace will govern the earth.
The coming Kingdom of God will correct what our present world has broken. Today we chase things but lose time; in God’s Kingdom, p
eople will regain what truly matters — time with God, time with family, time to live in righteousness and peace.
This is why Jesus taught us to pray in Gospel of Matthew 6:10:
"Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
Every time we pray these words, we express our longing for a world where God’s rule replaces human confusion.
Until that day arrives, we are called to live differently. We must resist the pressure of a world that measures life only by possessions. Instead, we should measure life by faith, love, obedience, and reverence to God and to serve mankind, preparing for His coming Kingdom.
Shalom!!
